Autumn’s Dawn is a little bit different from your average band. Made up of three Classically trained musicians, the group can switch effortlessly from a Classical Mozart Waltz into a good ole Bluegrass style fiddle tune. Kathleen (Kat) Moman, Elizabeth Johnson, and Hannah Boehlke all studied piano under the instruction of Nancy Crump and each competed in The World Piano competition. All three girls can play at least four instruments as well as provide vocals for the group.
When performing in the Classical realm, you will often find the girls at weddings or banquets. Autumn’s Dawn weddings feature self-arranged music performed on the piano, cello and violin or flute. Autumn's Dawn, provides personal help to the bride in music selection, timing and planning. When performing in the Bluegrass and Gospel realm, you will find the girls at fairs, festivals, private events and churches. At these events, Autumn’s Dawn switches to guitar, banjo and fiddle (sometimes with a ukulele thrown into the mix). Hannah’s hard-driving fiddle, Elizabeth’s rolling banjo, and Kat’s steady rhythm guitar provide a unique sound for the music that the band shares with each of its audiences.
Each of the girls has their own personal performance experience and combining these experiences provides the group with just what it needs to be excellent entertainers. From weddings to fairs, banquets to barn dances, Autumn’s Dawn has a wealth of experience in diverse genres and audience types. All three girls are composers and music arrangers which adds extra life to each performance. And don’t be shocked to know that a little bit of joking telling and humor are mixed into every event!
Although the girls have known each other for years, they formally began performing together in 2013 under the name Autumn’s Dawn. This Southern-Indiana based trio is sure to bring smiles and laughter to each person who hears their music.
